Former Admiral P. Kikareas of the Hellenic Navy Comments on Israeli Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni's Address to the Massachusetts House of Representati
(PRWEB) March 14, 2008 -- Admiral P. Kikareas, president of the World Foundation For Peace & Security (www.hellasp.com), well-known crisis management expert and Peace Advocate, says, "The clock is ticking," in response to an address made by Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Tzipi Livni to a special session of the Massachusetts House of Representatives this week.
In her inspired speech, Livni pointed out that, "The same extreme ideology and manipulation of religion that was behind the horrific attacks on the twin towers in New York, also threatens to spoil the peace that Israel, the United States, and many moderates throughout the region, so much desire."
Kikareas, in his previous press release regarding the "threatening" encounter between U.S. naval ships and Iranian fast boats in the Persian Gulf, made clear that this could have led to a "full-scale war of the United States against Iran."
"Since taking over the government, the Iranian extremists are continuously testing the limits of the United States, the UN and the international community at large by ignoring all UN resolutions and promoting terror world-wide," said Kikareas.
"The United Nations and the international community at large have recognized that economic sanctions on Iran, especially on Iran's energy sector, are the best means to persuade Iran to change its dangerous course," Livni said in her speech.
According to Kikareas, the International free world must be mobilized and act united to stop Iran from any nuclear program. He says that Iran's intentions are to create nuclear weapons and use them against Israel and other countries, including the U.S.
"It is really very sad to watch all these incidents, all this world chaos," said Kikareas. "With all the threats from Iran, Hezbollah, Hamas and Al Qaeda, the world could be a scary place if any of those groups had nuclear weapons capabilities."
Kikareas says that anytime the escalation of crisis is elevated, there is not any rule of engagement that forbids any military unit to take appropriate action for self-defense.
Kikareas asks the world leaders to take strong decisive actions as soon as possible. "I am sure that if this does not happen,' Kikareas says, "the most threatened countries will surely take unilateral actions for their self-defense and existence. This is also sad, as the victims of this extreme theology of hate will be the innocent, quiet, good people, children, elderly, and women in the world."
The World Community will repent if Iran continues on their deadly course. The clock is ticking and the time is getting shorter and shorter.
