Demeter's Pantry and Taste of Crete Celebrate their Merger -- Join the Party with a 10 Percent Discount on All Products
(PRWEB) December 7, 2007 -- After almost three years of increasingly close collaboration and partnership, Taste of Crete and Demeter's Pantry have decided to merge operations to form Demeter's Pantry LLC. Taste of Crete will continue as the in-house brand for Demeter's Pantry line of oils, cookies and other high quality, artisan food products from Crete.
Demeter's Pantry is a specialty food company working to promote authentic Greek cuisine in the United States and help preserve traditional methods of production in Greece. It imports products from some of the best artisan and organic producers in Greece including Apipharm, Ta Mylelia, Biolea and Odisia. The company also uses many of these same high quality products to make in the United States product lines based on traditional recipes learned from their families' kitchens in Greece and released under the Taste of Crete and The Greek Table brands.
Esther Luongo Psarakis, the founder and President of Taste of Crete, notes, "What began as a chance encounter at a trade show evolved into a firm business partnership based on a shared desire to bring traditional Greek foods to the American market." Maria Kardamaki Robertson, the founder of Demeter's Pantry, agrees, "Early this year, we realized that we were working on so many different projects together, it just made sense to finish off the process and merge. As we continue growing, we look forward to using our greater size to develop and better serve all our customers, whether they knew us as Taste of Crete or Demeter's Pantry."
Their close collaboration certainly has been key to their growing success. In March they were finalists in Amercan Express' 2007 Make Mine a Million Business Program for Women Entrepreneurs in Boston. More recently, Demeter's Pantry won the 2007 Small Business Vitality Award from the Somerset Business Partnership.
To celebrate the merger, the new company recently launched its new website at www.demeterspantry.com, upgraded to support eCommerce and including the full line of products supported by both companies. Come see online the delicious artisanal products that Esther and Maria have uncovered in Greece, sweet honey, rich oils, and delicious homemade preserves and savories. Through December 15, 2007, Demeter's Pantry is offering a 10 percent discount on all wholesale orders.
Their award winning products are sold in leading natural and gourmet specialty stores throughout the U.S. For more information about the new Demeter's Pantry, visit the web site or call our New Jersey office at (908) 685-2035.
